They often are “the victim of a vehicle strike.” Or surely more by proportion of their population than are most other birds.

Unfortunately, on my morning walk earlier today in Crace, I came across a dead barn owl. It was on the median strip on Abena Avenue and I suspect was the victim of a vehicle strike.
