The ACT Environment Minister was also on the radio news talking about the Swift Parrots. A pity she doesn't actually have a look at the number of native trees around Canberra that are at present being felled for heavens know what reasons. Also have a look at the rubbish that is being planted in the suburb of Whitlam - very good for Common Mynas I suspect. Poor old Gough would be horrified at all the mature Blakelely's Red Gums and Yellow Box trees that were removed. So much for looking after Regent honeyeaters, Swift Parrots and Superb Parrots in the ACT. This government hasn't got a clue about the environment.

Channel 9 were at Callum Brae this morning filming a segment on the Tasmanian Government’s need to step up to prevent the extinction of Swift Parrots. Not sure when it will be aired. It began to rain and the news crew took off for their car.
