Hi Mark,
Yesterday the Trucking Yard Lane dam had no water fowl but the dam in the same 
paddock, but facing Hoskinstown Road, had several Australian Shelducks.  I 
often see them near that dam.
The only explanation that I can think of for the sewage dam being filled in is 
that it is something to do with the construction of the new playing fields 
nearby.
