The Franklin oval, on the Huon south of Huonville, Tasmania, is always a good spot for a high count of Masked Lapwing:

A few years back, when in Eden for a COG pelagic, two of us counted over 120 on the sports field next to the lake boardwalk, and I've also seen big gatherings n Tasmania.

I don’t know what they put on the grass of the #1 Playing Field at Holt, but it suits the Masked Lapwings. At
14:00 today I counted 38 mainly grouped at the southern end where the aerial ping pong posts are positioned. They were standing about nice and still so I recounted, same total. Obviously post breeding autumn flocks, but I’ve don’t believe I’ve noticed such
a large flock in the ACT before or anywhere else for that matter. Perhaps others have.
