Doesn’t happen often here. I noticed that in Tasmania this sort of flocking occurs regularly (or at least on the couple of times I went to Tasmania).

I don’t know what they put on the grass of the #1 Playing Field at Holt, but it suits the Masked Lapwings. At 14:00 today I counted 38 mainly grouped at the southern end where the aerial ping pong posts are positioned. They were standing about nice and still so I recounted, same total. Obviously post breeding autumn flocks, but I’ve don’t believe I’ve noticed such a large flock in the ACT before or anywhere else for that matter. Perhaps others have.
