Many thanks for posting this Merarth.  It’s an Eastern Koel which is an interest of mine.  From the amount of barring on the wings it appears to be fledgling still rather than a female, with the amount of black around the head and possibly shoulders (and long tail) suggesting it’s a reasonably advanced male fledgling.  Is it making a begging noise and has another species such as the Red Wattlebird been feeding it (Koels are a parasitic Cuckoo)?

Hello,

 

A new bird has visited the backyard today and I haven’t been able to confidently ID it as yet, assistance greatly appreciated. This is only a phone photo but have camera ready for next time I see it so will post a better photo if I can.
