Was that at the same location the Brown Goshawk used to swoop as previous years, Stan? Just up the hill from the far northwest corner of the ANBG, on the boundary track?

I have been swooped (not lightly) by a Brown Goshawk (yesterday) and a couple of weeks back - both times at the Botanic Gardens. It was quick and aggressive.

I’ve had the same butcher bird experience in the same vicinity Helen.
Last year, in Brisbane, a raven near took me out.
