As I approached the triangular dam in Campbell Park this morning I
spotted a single wood duck on the far shore. It was moving but without
making any distance.

When I crossed the dam embankment I approached what appeared to be a
dead duck. The Duck was immobile with its neck stretched out on the
ground. Nearby, two tiny bundles of fluff were likewise totally
motionless. I took a step towards them and the parent and several
ducklings scuttled for the safety of the water. The ducklings were the
smallest I have seen for Wood Duck so I believe they may have only just
left the nest.

regards

Con
