Excellent b watching @ N Durras, NSW  by the creekette (down @ the base of the westernmost campground), that runs under the bridge (which you cross if setting off to walk along the path to Durras  lake) . Saw here a lyrebird, foraging & chittering to himself; various whipbirds flashing about, incl a pair, prancing across a huge old fallen gum (that has formed a 2nd , large, `bridge’ over the creek) for all the world like circus dancers on a tightrope; have never seen these birds going quite so public before; also , last thrill before I went back to base,: a Bassian thrush came down to creek’s v muddy edge/sludge, delighted (which i inferred from a quiet `plop’) @ prospect of writhing food sources in the slime etc. This went on for quite a while; my silent perch on the v low bridge was excellent. Site highly recommended. [accom in the cottages on site was excellent].
