Rick,

Your best source for information would be the HANZAB publication, I think volume 5 covers the honeyeaters. I have Red Wattlebirds regularly coming in to steal whatever food scraps we throw out and the birds around my place are into their second brood. The first clutch only produced one young that drives both its parents and my wife an I crazy with its constant begging call. Be interesting o see if they go a third time - quite possible - now that the Pacific Koels are back!

Cheers,

Mark

Can anyone recommend any sources of information about Red wattlebird biology or behaviour.

One is regularly taking food from my fingers, others are nesting in the front yard and I'm keen to find out more about them. Information in field guides and on general Australian bird web sites is thin. Google scholar hasn't turned up much.

Thanks

Rick
