I am intrigued that those birdata records weren’t shared with COG.  This is reminiscent of the Black chinned Honeyeater only picked up years after the event when one appeared at Newline.  I am particularly intrigued about the one in Carwoola: if that was against my ID it’s a typo!

And eBird has one for 05-03-2007 from Namadgi National Park--Warks/Blundells Creek Roads, observer Peter Milburn.

Birdata has other local records:
- 28.04.2011 Yankee Hat area
- 28.03.2012 Carwoola
- 28.09.2013 Mulligans Flat
- 21.10.2013 Nelanglo area

ALA may have other records, I have not checked.

The Rarities Panel records show only two claims of a Brown Honeyeater in our area - one in the ANBG in 1987 and one in Charnwood in 1998. Neither was able to be endorsed and in fact the latter turned out to be a Fuscous HE. b

On the Australian Bird Identification Group's Facebook page on Wednesday
was a series of photographs taken by a lady in Yass. One of the photos
is clearly a Brown Honeyeater. I have been in touch with her and the
bird was photographed in the town itself. To the best of my knowledge
this is the first genuine record of this species in COG's Area of
Interest. I do believe there was a record from the Tidbinbilla Nature
Reserve that was rejected by the rarities panel several years ago. If I
can find the record on my phone I will show the photo to two members of
the rarities panel next week. I am certainly happy to accept this record.
