Came home from a few days in Sydney to find the banksia in my front yard in Deakin shredded with the driveway looking like the floor of a carpenter’s workshop.

My guess was Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos.  A couple of hours later, we were subjected to the irritating begging calls of a dependent young YTBC.  The two parents and a female dependent young were in the tree.  They took off and flew to a nearby Pinus canariensis whose fruits they set about demolishing.
