Probably. Field guides I looked at don’t mention age related changes in eye colour. HANZAB picture shows a dark eye only for what is labelled as juvenile (though looks like a fledgling). Also has “pale (not dark) iris (except in juvenile)” in describing difference with Red-capped Robin.

Hi all,

 

a Crimson Chat was spotted in Parkwood yesterday morning by Peter Christian. It was seen again in the afternoon. See attached photo.

I would appreciate some expert advice on its age, as it has brown eyes. Does that mean it is a juvenile?
