I had a quick visit to Jerra Wetlands late this morning and while in Ardea hide i saw 2 Snipe engaging in a full on fight near Snipe hide. It was too far away to get any decent photos but was interesting to watch. Most of the fighting took place in the air with locked feet and stabbing the belly of the other bird with their beak. After a while the one with no leg flag flew over to the shingle island but the flagged bird was still not happy and flew over and the fighting began again.

Then a Chestnut Teal charged at the Snipe making them fly away, i thought this strange but then a Male Chestnut Teal came around the point with six ducklings. I guess mum was not happy with the Snipe fighting in front of her kids.
