I can see where you are coming from as both Frances and I noticed that.  However eBird did say that their servers crashed and they were able to fix them,  As they didn't attribute blame to Microsoft or other hackers or such-like, and noting the error message I got, I assume it was something in their sign-on system.

I’m not sure that it was Ebird alone.  I had all sorts of weird things happen yesterday when I was trying to do things on the ‘net.

As of 1455 it appears that all is now back to normal.  I have submitted lists from my phone and added media to a list compiled on my laptop.

It now appears that some parts of the system are working.  I have been able to submit a list from my laptop but trying to add photos gets an error message about accessing species names.  Trying to submit an existing checklist from my phone gets an error that the data couldn't be read because it isn't in the right format!!

So if you are collecting crucial data today I would use appropriate technology (such as pencil and paper).

I thought the mobile system was still working but when it tried to submit a checklist that failed also.  I am surprised an institution with the stature of Cornell has such a fragile computer system (second failure in a very short while).
