Flowering Yellow Boxes - a disappointment

I suspect a similar situation is applying to the Silvertop Ash (Eucalyptus sieberii) om the coast.

But this time only few insects were present (albeit this may have been more a sign of the dire drought conditions), and birds did not visit the flowers, although many White-plumed Honeyeaters, some Noisy Friarbirds and White-browed Woodswallows were present. It seemed the flowers were poor in nectar, an assessment supported by some beekeepers.
