A great find indeed, Sandra.
I would like to again thank you for your post on the chatline about this bird. It is great to see the sharing of sightings for all to enjoy.
For me this bird gave me a lifer (400 species), an A.C.T. lifer (241 species) and took me up to 212 species for this Year in the A.C.T. so i am a happy chappy indeed 😀

so pleased a few people got the opportunity to see it!
I note that the last record for the species in the ACT in eBird is a sighting in 2008 at Lake Ginninderra, so quite a rarity these days

Yes a whole crowd assembled to see this bird. Nice opportunity. Not especially easy as it crossed from one side and length of the pond to the other
a few times. Surely lots of photos were taken. Strangest thing was Lia walked about a metre past it, not knowing, because it was perched on the lower side of the wall, whilst we watched this from far away, having watched it fly across.

A possible common sandpiper
Still not great on IDiing these waders. Pre White under, bobbing continuously. Again, on Isabella side now, but very wary and flying several times across pond can't get close enough for phone photo
