I take this opportunity to point out that the unusual drawing of a Barn Owl in profile in ‘Pocket Guide to the Birds of Ireland’, Dempsey, E. and O’Clery, M. Gill & Macmillan, Dublin, 1995) has a
remarkable similarity to the map of Ireland. Can this be another coincidence?
