Thank you for your emails. Michael Lenz suggested starlings and I think that they may fit the bill There were was one flock of about 12 and a couple of 3-4. It was about 4 pm.
They would not be small birds such as wee-bills or honeyeaters. We do see the honeyeaters fly by when they are on the move and they mostly tend to fly on the north side of the building where there are some eucalypts where they sometimes stop for a while.
We have been here 3 years and we have not seen these birds flying past before. They have been flying for a few weeks now.
