Last Wednesday 17 April appears to have been the end of the migration over Jerrabomberra. Saw a lot that day but none since, apart from Red Wattlebirds (flocks of 10-15).

Some of you will remember that Bill and I, about 10 years ago were going to a place near the Big Hole, south of Braidwood off the old Cooma Road, to see flocks of he’s flying through, 100s 1000s. Due to growing
old, and medical conditions, we had not been able to go for a few years. Well our grand daughter took us on Saturday and I was thrilled to see, again, 100s, 1000s of he’s and red wattle birds streaming in from the west on Hart’s Road, past Warragandra homestead
and on up the hill. It was wonderful. Date April 20th. So where do they come from? And where do they go?
There must be people who follow the migration, lots of different routes. I want to know of any routes, flying out of Canberra as well as flying into Canberra. Remember there have been fires this last year
in Victoria.
Lindsay Hanch is continuing to see many birds, flying past his place, at Jerrabomberra, from Fyshwick and on to Where?
