I'm hoping that I can get away with a bit of self-promotion, noting that it is bird-related and hopefully of interest to many of you! I’ve just self-published an e-book on Amazon. It’s called ‘Made in Australia: Native Species Introduced Overseas’ and it tells the stories of those Australian species, including many birds, which have found their way to foreign shores. We tend to focus on species introduced to Australia but there are a surprising number of animals which have travelled the other way and as there was no book on this subject, I decided to write one.

After many years of research and writing, I then spent more years receiving rejections from publishers who did not think it was viable as a printed book. Years passed and the project stalled as life took over but I recently dusted it off, edited it and it's now available as an e-book on certain Kindle devices at https://tinyurl.com/y2mfes6q. Any feedback and disseminating to like-minded individuals and organisations is greatly appreciated!

And I would like to acknowledge the assistance provided by three COGites who gave permission for me to use their images in this book: Geoffrey Dabb (6 images used), Julian Robinson (3 images) and Leo Berzins (one image).

Regards,
Maurits Zwankhuizen
