Just last week, I noted a juvenile male in transition plumage taking an interest in an existing bower site at the Botanic Gardens. I'm not sure if this was a take-over attempt or an educational experience. A link to a photograph that I posted on Instagram is given below.

This morning I noticed the bower in the front ‘garden’ had a new manager.  This is the third time over several years I have seen a 6/7 years plumage transition at this site.  I have not seen the regular male around for a few weeks, so I think we might see a new tenant moving in (what happened the first time) rather than the new graduate move off to establish his own practice (what happened the second time).  This bird knows how to handle the few grapes thrown in the direction of the bower each morning.
