Our Red Wattlebirds here in Ngunnawal (Casey end) have a baby Koel for at least the 2nd season in a row. The tree they usually nest in was cut down in Winter, so they moved two along and started right back up again, Koels and all.

And my first young Koel for the season made a very brief appearance in my Fadden GBS this morning. Already a very competent flyer, and 1km away from Shorty's bird so probably different as long as it is still dependent. An adult male and female present in the area as well, moving around together.
