Unlike many areas this season, we have had our "best ever" koel season in Gleneagles, Kambah. Yesterday, this was topped off by a young, very noisy juvenile koel following its Red Wattlebird parent about all day. We also had more calling (both ko-el and wirra-wirra) earlier this season than in any previous year.

Many thanks Shorty, from its size including that of the tail I expect it has fledged a little while ago.  It’s now the 6th I’m aware of this season, but still none around my place in Chapman/Rivett despite the continuing adult activity, as well as finding a few more RWB fledglings.

While working at a clients place this morning at Bugden Ave, Fadden, i observed 2 busy Red Wattlebird feeding a Koel. But don't worry, my Brother was working hard while i took some pics so production was still moving forward.
