It looks very much to me what the aviary bird breeders call a Blue Crimson Rosella. My grandfather was a bird breeder and some of my cousins and nephews still are. It is almost certainly an aviary escapee.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Interesting bird

Hi all,

I saw this bird today on Smiths Road near Angle Crossing Road.

I have put it up on Facebook for an ID and have been told it is a "Blue" Eastern Rosella. What do you all think?
