Mah Behruznia, from Iran, is one of a few non-birder biology grad students at ANU. She
studies bacterial biodiversity (and therefore their 'health') in local septic tanks.
She has scraped the barrel of Research School of Biology septic owners and seeks our help. Some COG members have donated already (thanks). Many more of us live rural and so if you have a septic tank and could contribute a sample to her research
(she visits and does the dirty work) please contact her at <m("anu.edu.au","Mahboobeh.Behruznia");" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" data-auth="NotApplicable">>
Sampling takes no more than 2 minutes. She'd be particularly happy to sample a neighbourhood, so COG people with friends with septics welcomed. All results will be kept anonymous but she sends
summarised outcomes of the research to those that participate and want to hear the dirt on their septic biodiversity.
