There are 4 reports of Zebra Finches at Jerra wetlands today with photos that clearly support the ID. I have a memory that nearly all ACT records of the species are at this site and within
a week or two of the Christmas break.
I have in the past always assumed it was some hobbyist letting their birds escape while they are away, but an annotation on the current records suggests the birds are wild type. I'd welcome
comments on this.
