Not that I would expect Denise or people at the airport to have on hand, cages suitable for birds with very extendable necks and dagger-like bills but by my looking at the cage, it could be hazardous for anyone carrying it or even for the bird. Anyway congratulations for anyone involved in reporting, catching and rescuing it.

This turned up at the airport, trapped in the airlock part of the Departure doors . 

 

 

Is it a Little Bittern it is 12 -15 cm .
