With the Whiskers Creek family it is usually 34+/-2 days from hatching to leaving the nest. I am very surprised that they were on their own in the nest - I have never seen that and assume
that "something" bad happened to Dad. I have seen Evil Incarnate (aka a Pied Currawong) swoop the nest and get dissuaded by Dad, or, if things get really bad' Mum also flies in from her roost to help in the defense.
