We took the scenic route to Mallacoota yesterday: coming via Moruya Heads South. While there I took a quick glance at Newstead Pond (off Hazel Rd). There were about 20 Freckled Duck there
- which I had not sen in the area on previous visits. Also a Nankeen Night Heron flew in. The pond has lotsa water and is well worth a visit.
