Last week near home during my walk around the block I encountered maybe 30 PC congregating in one tree with much noise and agitation directed at something hidden
(from me) in the middle of maybe an oak tree. The tree was in someone’s back yard so I couldn’t get close. I was hoping to find an owl, raptor or Channel-billed Cuckoo but could not see anything relevant. I admit that a FF had not crossed my mind as a possible
cause. But given that below, it could be. I have seen FF there at night.

Today, I noticed a pair of Pied Currawongs behaving strangely, calling and flying in and out of a large, densely foliaged, broad-leaved non-native tree in the next door garden; this has gone on frequently all
day. I finally managed to see a flying fox roosting there, which the PCs have been attacking since this morning. The FF is still there.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Bower birds vs Flying Fox
This afternoon (3.30ish) , at Weston Park (Yarralumla) in a mulberry tree (in young unripe fruit), a single Flying Fox was very vigorously chasing off several green Satin Bowerbirds before settling down to nosh on the fruit. There was also
a Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike and a Currawong in and out of the tree.
