Thanks for that. Looks nice for someone who might want yet another eagle book or maybe their first. More description of the book is here https://yalebooks.yale.edu/book/9780300232899/empire-eagle.  It revisits an issue about what is an eagle and by extension what may be an “eagle-like bird”. It states sixty-eight currently recognized eagle species. But this is a diverse lot. At a quick look the first other book I look at has the same number. So that is comforting. The curious caption though is this bit. An adult bateleur (left) perches next to an immature bateleur in South Africa’s Kruger national park, showing that although the two differ greatly in plumage, they share the same characteristic shape of large head, long wings and short tail.  Well of course they are the same shape and about that the two differ greatly in plumage it really is just colour. Something often occurring in eagles………
