Hi all,
My Magpie Larks have been sitting on the nest for the last 2 weeks after their first attempt failed.
I have been speaking with my neighbour today and she has told me that last night a male Koel was in the tree the Magpie Larks have their nest and there was quite a dispute between it and the Magpie Larks and the Willy Wagtails.
Today the Magpie Larks are no longer sitting on the nest and this brings on more questions than answers. I have not heard a female Koel so far so i question that did the male Koel destroy the eggs hoping the female will arrive soon and in time for the
Magpie Larks to try again or perhaps a female was present and the Magpie Larks have not decieded to host the Koels?
I will keep an eye on them to see what happens.
