Interesting that it was about to rain.
My Grandmother always called koels 'the rainbird' .

out of bed to the balcony they were quietening down but over the next 10 or so
minutes until it started raining making it difficult, I could be fairly sure

I feel like I might be able to sympathise with the anti-Koel movement. I
certainly don't remember them being so obnoxious down here in the past, let's
hope this is a one off...
