Heard a Koel for 15 minutes at 05:00 today. I believe it was a female and sounded a good 100 metres away. The call recommenced at 05:30 lasting just five minutes and fainter than before. This is only about the fifth time I’ve witnessed a Koel in West Belconnen, previous encounters being later in the season.

Also three male Superb Parrots fossicking about in short grass beneath elms at Holt Oval at 10:00.
