Hi

I would  appreciate any helpful comment from experienced users on the relative quality of birding telescopes in the mid 1,000 price bracket. The following three have appeal from among the models available in Australian stores. All are 20-60x80, and angled. They have ED glass and are gas filled:

Celestron Regal M2, 1.6kg,    $1,300

Bushnell Elite, 1.5kg,              $1,700;

Vortex Viper HD 1.9kg,          $1,600.

I haven’t found any shop where they can all be compared, e.g. Bintel only has the first, so if you know a good shop between Sydney and Melbourne where Bushnell and Vortex telescopes can be inspected, that would also be helpful information.

Thank you
