Hi Richard,

As far as I know you need to have a Facebook account to access any Facebook group. When you have created an account and logged in to Facebook you will be able to access the group page. The first time you access it you will not see any posts but you will see a "Join Group" button. Once a group administrator has granted you membership you will be able to read and create posts on the group page. The reason access to the group is restricted to to prevent "nuisance" posts from Facebook users who have no interest in natural history.

Hope this helps, regards,

Roman

Hi Roman,

For those of us not connected to Facebook, is there any way you can allow access to the general public.

I know of another group that can do so but when trying to link to your group unfortunately I can't get any further than a login page.

Regards,

Richard

For those who use Facebook that are interested in sightings in the Eurobodalla region they might like to join the Eurobodalla Natural History Facebook Group.
Whilst it is a general interest natural history group unusual bird sightings are posted occasionally.

Roman

On a similar note, I have had a few groups up and running for several months which I haven't really advertised:

Strava - Canberra Birders https://www.strava.com/clubs/CBR-birders (Strava allows you to track your walks and other activities - a perfect platform to share your birding routes and highlight sightings with others)

If you use those platforms and feel those groups are relevant, please join them.
