Shops like to sell these model raptors and owls, supposedly to stop this
problem. My expectation is that it is a nonsense. I expect no bird will respond
to such a model as they will to a real predator. If I am wrong and anyone has
any good news story, I would be interested to hear it. Yes birds will respond
to a stuffed raptor or owl (and usually not to keep away) but I don't think
they are tricked by a plaster or other model.

To add to the list of reflection-attacking species among Australian birds:
Some years ago, a pair of noisy friarbirds attacked our (reflective-coated,
westerly-facing) bedroom windows continuously from dawn to dusk (in Emu
Ridge, Belconnen), making one heck of a noise! We tried various ways to
stop them (including placing a large (model) raptor in front of the
windows - only to have the birds perch on it!) In the end, the only remedy
was to completely cover the windows with green "sarlon" (sp?) cloth and keep
it there for several months until the birds had headed north (we assume), as
they do.

It is time for a list of confirmed reflection-attacking species among
Australian birds.
I have personally seen the following. There must be others.
Magpie-lark
Superb Fairy-wren
Noisy Miner
Red Wattlebird
I now add: Spotted Pardalote,
