I surveyed the site in Bevan Street, Higgins. Just four on Saturday night, including one juvenile. However, there were 79 birds in the park and nearby on Sunday
morning.
No birds in Bevan Street on Sunday night but a few flying in from north-east. I began to follow them and then following calls from the direction of Kippax found
a new roost site at the end of Nicholls Place, Higgins and in the trees lining the Kippax Oval along Starke Street and the car. By the time I arrived they had stopped flying in but were still flitting between trees. I estimated about 92 birds including a number
of juveniles.
