Hi Wayne,
Just saw your email. I was at Fivebough between 22 and 24 April. Don’t know if you ended up going already. Over the three mornings and two afternoons I saw:
Black Ducks, Grey Teal, Pelicans, Black Swans, Swamphens, Coots, Magpies, Willie Wagtails, Golden-headed Cisticolas, Black-winged Stilts, Red-kneed Dotterels,
a White-necked Heron, White-faced Heron, Grey Butcherbird, European Goldfinches, Zebra Finches. Raptors included a Hobby, Whistling Kite, Nankeen Kestrels, and others unidentified from a distance (probably Kites). A Spotless Crake darted in front of me several
times while I was waiting to get photos of the Stilts in flight (which I haven’t put up on Facebook yet).
There is some, but not much water there, and a long walk to see it through only a few gaps in the reeds or from the raised viewing platforms. However there
is easy (driveable) access to a few ponds from the corner of Fivebough and Quadling Roads. There I saw Royal Spoonbills, Yellow-billed Spoonbills, Great Egrets, and Australasian Darters as well as the usual ducks.
Have been slowly adding photos here:

I enjoyed my visit, but I think it would be better after some rain, and after Winter. Looking forward to going back in Spring/Summer.

Has anyone been out to either spot in the last few days? I am thinking of a trip out to both spots in a week or so and would appreciate some feedback on the state of the wetlands
and bird activity.
