Martin, there is a small White Ibis rookery on the northern of the three island at Gungahlin Pond. Also Little and Great Cormorant. I reported this to eBird
about a week ago. One needs to get to the island for a decent count as not really possible from the western shore. I have not visited the eastern shore for that appears to be part of the golf course.

Subject: [canberrabirds] Today and next Wednesday
Feeling like an outing today Frances and I and the small dog took ourselves to Gungahlin Pind and Yerrabi Pond.
The first named was not somewhere I had been before and it was quite astonishing in its number of birds. There is possibly an Ibis rookery on an island and certainly a White-necked Heron was present.
Well worth a visit next Wednesday. However parking seemed to be an issue as the streets we used (mainly Westbury Circuit) was very narrow: I don't know how the residents handle parking for a dinner party. Can anyone suggest a good venue for parking with
reasonably close access to the pond?
Yerrabi Pond was mainly the usual suspects. The surprise was a fledgling Koel just on the land side of Soroptomist Point. A Red Wattlebird was in attendance.
My plan at this stage is to meet at the car park near the skate park (the first one off Wunderlich Street) walk along the Southern edge of Yerrabi Pond returning to the cars and pooling into as
few vehicles as possible and then driving to a car park somewhere near the Gungahlin Pond. We might risk the wrath of Westbury Circuit if no-one has any better suggestions.
