An interesting story and quite believable. Did you inform the office there, so that they can seal the hole? There is an issue of concern (or maybe not) that such leads to increasing escapes of such birds especially as there is very mixed parentage going on there (hybridisation).

A few years ago I watched a Rainbow loikeet on top of the netting at the Federation Square aviary as it led a bird inside to a hole in the netting. They then flew away together.
