The Brown Goshawk chicks are doing well, one is now perching in branches some distance from the nest and quite low at times, while the other seems to still favour the nest and branch that it’s on. Parents still vigilant, and with too much attention (like multiple onlookers) or some unneighbourly Currawongs, they retreat to the nest.


Also Yellow-Tailed Cockatoos have been taking a predictable flight path over the Tidbinbilla valley. Roughly 7:15-7:30 each evening, anywhere from several to dozens flying south-east from various locations around the valley including the Reserve and Gibraltar Pines. The number each evening has been declining each time.
