Hi all

We’ve had koels calling in Lyons recently, both the ‘ko-elle’ and the ‘wirra-wirra-wirra’ calls. I love this – the calls are compelling and melodic and somehow tropical, especially in the middle of the night, and remind me that I’m no longer in Kent! But on Saturday evening when I went outside at dusk to see if I could spot the birds, I was surprised to see a fruit bat flying over. First one I have seen in Lyons.

my daughter is currently living in Chapman close behind the shops.  She told me recently about FFs coming to a tree near the shops.  she isn’t sure if they are roosting there or finding something to eat

Has anyone else seen on heard one in this region , late in the evening?  Sounds are light scratchy squeaking. Only one creature seen.

I also spotted what I believed to be 1 Flying Fox at Black Mountain Peninsula after the COG Barbeque was finishing.
