During this morning’s sunny calm conditions I swung by the Holt Oval to check for Superb Parrots but without success. However I was pleased to count 17 Red-rumped Parrots feeding inside the cricket nets until two dogs leading a man jogged by and the startled parrots repaired to the top of the wire netting. However within five minutes or so they returned to feed on the grass and were soon joined by a further eight fly-ins. Pretty soon six Eastern Rosellas dropped into the feeding flock causing nary a ripple of consternation among the red-rumps.
