My best example of general ignorance of biography was a housing development in Qld some years ago which was trying to appear 'green'. It stated that nest-boxes had been put up all around the development for woodpeckers! (I guess the text was cut and pasted from an N American housing development spiel).

Wonderful example of the work of the 'drag and drop' age! Whats more they don't swoop!   Best just called Magpies as they occur right across temperate Eurasia and into the west of  US/Canada.  Great bird though.

We’ve just found the latest Our Canberra: Belconnen Edition newsletter in the mailbox.
On the back, justifiably, is a panel entitled It’s Magpie Swooping Season.
There’s a street scene photograph and a Magpie “comin at yer” but beside the title there’s an image of a European Magpie Pica Pica.
