The first Fan-tailed Cuckoo of the season for Carwoola is currently calling. WRT to heat wave the minimum overnight temperature yesterday was 9C, the second highest August minimum recorded
in the Carwoola area (at various sites) since 1993. (The warmest was 12C on 30/8/2005.)
I have been keeping an eye out for the Little Eagle but it hasn't reappeared. I hope it hasn't damaged itself flying into the impenetrable barrier of the ACT/NSW border. Later in the
month I will go and snuffle around the site where one nested a couple of years ago.
