Following a tip from David McDonald I took myself to the Bungendore poo pits this afternoon and ticked a Yellow-billed Spoonbill standing on abank between the Southern lagoons. There
were a few other ducks there.
There were lots of ducks on both dams on Trucking Yard Lane including 24 Plumed Whistling Ducks on the bigger dam and 25 Shelduck over by the feeding racks. At the small dam a hawthorn
tree had the biggest flock of House Sparrows (at least 100 birds) I have seen for ages and the paddocks were a mass of Cockatoos with at least 100 Sulpur-crested, 50 Little Corellas and uncountable Galahs. I guessed600 but there might have been 1000: they
wouldn't stay still.
