One Yellow-billed Spoonbill at the Bungendore Sewage Treatment Plant,
seen by me this morning and Martin Butterfield this afternoon.
While I was watching it, the bird tentatively stepped down the steep
rocky bank to the (cold, deep) sewage setting pond, dipped the tip of
its bill into the water and quickly removed it, walking back up to the
top of the bank: nothing like the edge of a shallow wetland where they
normally feed!
