Congratulations to the majority of people who correctly identified the
Greylag Goose - ancestor of the domestic goose. One correspondent noted
that there are feral flocks (presumably breeding?) in hitherto foxless
Tasmania, so it may only be a matter of time before Greylag Goose is
added to the Australian list. Paul Gatenby noted that 'In Canberra they
are usually downstream from the Malcolm Fraser Bridge.'
Anyway, having looked at the pseudo-dentition (technical term?) of the
bird in the image, I have made a mental note to avoid getting bitten by
an angry Greylag Goose.
